Helene Vonnegut is a studio potter residing on St. George Island, Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia. While on international assignments in the diplomatic corps she began collecting ceramics. The collecting led to hands on clay exploration beginning in 2005 at the Northern Virginia Community College with William Schran. Appreciating the history, culture and architecture captured in ceramics, she works with stoneware to create appealing works that function in the home or allure to the garden. The hand-painted tableware is a collaboration with C.M. Crouch. Additional works can be seen in Maryland at North End Gallery in Leonardtown and Artworks@7th in North Beach, and in Virginia at the Torpedo Factory's Scope Gallery in Alexandria. She is a member of the Kiln Club of Washington, DC.
