About

Helene Vonnegut is a studio potter currently transitioning to Beaufort, South Carolina from homes on St. George Island, Maryland and Alexandria, Virginia. Helene began clay exploration in 2005 as a student of William Schran at the Northern Virginia Community College. Drawn to the history, culture and architecture of ceramics, she works with stoneware to create appealing works that function in the home or allure to the garden. The hand-painted tableware is a collaboration with C. M. Crouch. She exhibited in Maryland (North End Gallery, Leonardtown and Artworks@7th in North Beach), and Virginia (the Torpedo Factory's Scope Gallery, Alexandria). Her Virginia studio is located at the Alexandria Clay Cooperative; she is a member of the Kiln Club of Washington, DC.
